In a healthy cat, the surface of the bladder wall is covered with a layer of glucosaminoglucans (GAGs). This layer protects the bladder wall from direct exposure to urine. The urine irritates the nerve fibers in the bladder, which signal the discomfort to the brain.
Cystophan helps to support and protect the glucosaminoglucan (GAG) layer on the surface of the bladder wall, it also contains L-tryptophan, which is used by the brain to produce serotonin, the happiness hormone.

Cystophan is available in packages of 30 capsules.
The capsules may be administered whole or the contents may be sprinkled over the cat's food.
Cats up to 3 kg - initially 1 capsule a day. In long-term therapy, 1 capsule every other day
Cats over 3 kg - initially 2 capsules a day. In long-term therapy, 1 capsule a day.
